Sigourney Weaver Is No Flake in Snow Cake
Sigourney Weaver (Alien) has proven not to be a flake in her upcoming film Snow Cake, where she plays an autistic mother. "It took me a long time to even understand how to prepare for this part, because every person with autism is so unique, and to find someone like Linda took a long time," Weaver told the Associated Press. Weaver's character Linda meets truck driver Alan Rickman (Love, Actually) and the film progresses through the relationship up until Linda's death. "I have to say it was one of the most fascinating years I've ever spent researching for this part — I learned so much, and I met so many wonderful people," said Weaver to AP. Scriptwriter Angela Pell said she got the inspiration for the film from her own autistic son. "I wanted to write a film that showed that sometimes living with autistic people can be a pain, but actually most of the time it's really good fun."
