Anti-Fur Activists "Pelt" Designer for Fur Use
London Fashion Week was pelted yet again for its use of fur by anti-fur activists. Designer Julien Macdonald, arriving at a party with heiress Paris Hilton, was covered in flour by the activists; other activists, dressed in fur as actual animals, locked themselves in cages in protest.
"There is nothing remotely fashionable about the torture and death of animals killed for fur," PETA spokeswoman Yvonne Taylor told Reuters. "Julien Macdonald may have been able to ignore images of bloody skinned animals gasping for breath in the past, but hopefully a dash of flour will help him rise to the occasion and forsake fur once and for all." No arrests have yet been made.
