Alec Baldwin is drawing on his real-life pain for a self-help book... his own.
Ellen Wernecke
We saw Dustin Hoffman tackle it in "Kramer vs. Kramer."
Now Alec Baldwin has signed a book deal with St. Martin's Press to write a how-to for dads dealing with divorce and winning custody battles.
Baldwin, still involved in bitter battles with ex Kim Basinger over their daughter Ireland, insists he's not just out to criticize the California legal system, although he has strong words for that, calling it "rigged" and "this quicksand."
"People get married and one thing they don't know," says Baldwin. "There really is a hidden danger, which is you don't know what divorce law is like in the state that you reside in."
Baldwin will share his "personal insights" in the book and also in a series of seminars he plans to give for divorced dads.
