Rolling Stones to Play in China

The Rolling Stones are holding their first concert in China three years after gigs in both Shanghai and Beijing were cancelled due to the SARS outbreak in 2003.

According to Chinese promoters, the band will play an 8,000 seat stadium in Shanghai on April 8th, with ticket prices ranging from 300 to 3000 yuan ($100 USD = about 830 yuan). The gig is not yet listed on the Rolling Stones' website, although new dates on the 'A Bigger Bang' tour in Greece, Australia and New Zealand were announced earlier this week.

The recent concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro took place just a week before Rio's famous carnival. More than one million fans saw the Rolling Stones perform a free concert in Brazil earlier this month.
