A Surprise Crash at the Academy Awards

Crash picks up the best picture award in a tough category.
At tonight's 78th Academy Awards, Canadian Paul Haggis' Crash, featuring a high profile Hollywood cast, picked up the best picture Oscar. Brokeback Mountain had been favoured to win in the category.
Other winners included Reese Witherspoon for best actress, who portrayed June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as best actor in Capote.
Best director went to Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain, best supporting actress to Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener, and best supporting actor to George Clooney in Syriana.
