Mary J. Blige's Bum Deserves The Best

She may present herself as a down-to-earth darling, but on tour Blige is all about the sweet life.

When most musicians go on tour, all they really hope for is a decent place to rest their head. Singer Mary J. Blige, though, is a stickler about her seat.

The R&B star's tour rider, recently published by TheSmokingGun.com, requires the singer's dressing room at each stop to have a private bathroom -- and a new toilet seat just for Blige.

Miss Blige also requires Schweppes ginger ale, Red Vines and FIJI bottled water to get fueled up for a show. Even more stringent are her management's requests that Blige's hotel not operate any kind of machinery or loud apparatus outside her room -- not that we don't all wish for that on vacation -- and that if the room doesn't suit her, the hotel will move her to a separate site at their expense.

And a warning about respecting Blige's "Do Not Disturb" sign is followed by a record 26 exclamation points.

Blige recently kicked off a 35-city tour in support of her latest album "The Breakthrough." The toilet-seat industry rejoices.
