American Family Association Targets "Las Vegas"
Now that "The Book of Daniel" is long forgotten, the American Family Association has a new target: Las Vegas.
Not the city, but the show: The AFA is reportedly swamping the FCC with complaints via its Website about the NBC drama "Las Vegas," starring TK and TK, for a strip-club scene in the Feb. 6 episode. The FCC has received some 134,000 complaints about the show, triple the number it received IN TOTAL regarding television programs in the last quarter of 2005.
Besides the fiasco over "The Book of Daniel," NBC is steamed that the AFA posted a clip from "Las Vegas" on its Website without network permission. The AFA made the scene freely available on its Website until members complained it was too graphic.
The FCC has been in the spotlight ever since 2004's Super Bowl halftime show, leading many live shows to be on a five-second tape delay in case something similar should happen. Maybe the AFA should institute a five-second e-mail delay for its members, too?
