CBS' "Rock Star" Gets a New Band

Tommy Lee, James Newsted, and Gilby Clarke are in the new band featured on "Rock Star."

The latest band to be completed on CBS' "Rockstar" has some old favorites. The show that found a new lead singer for INXS last year will now find a frontman for the newly formed band Supernova.

Supernova contains seasoned musicians from popular bands in the '80's and '90's. Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and guitarist Gilby Clarke from Guns N' Roses are all members of the band. Once a lead singer is crowned on the show, the band will head to the studio to work on an album that is scheduled to be released in the fall. Supernova will then take on the world when they begin touring in early 2007.

Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke will be back on the show as hosts. The show will also have guest appearances by Slash, Rob Zombie, Moby and Macy Gray.
