Crowe Caught Smoking
A venue in New Zealand could be fined because of Russell Crowe. The 41-year-old actor started smoking while on stage performing with his new band, Ordinary Fear of God, which is against the law in the country.
The Smoke-Free Environments Amendment Act in New Zealand bans smoking in restaurants, bars, and casinos. Crowe had been seen smoking at two different venues last week, at the Ilott Theatre in Wellington and at another venue in Auckland. The director of Action on Smoking and Health, Becky Freeman said to the "New Zealand Herald," "So, he's above the law because he's a celebrity or something? Just because you're Russell Crowe doesn't mean you can do whatever you like." The venues could face up to a $1,422 fine for not telling Crowe to stop smoking.
