Scary Movie 4 Tops Easter Weekend
The fourth installment of the "Scary Movie" series had fans crowding into theaters this past weekend. "Scary Movie 4" topped the box office, grossing $40.2 million, which is the best ever opening for a film on Easter weekend. Last week's number one film, "Ice Age: The Meltdown" made half as much money as this week's number one film. The animated film made $20 million and took second place. The comedy "Benchwarmers" dropped to number three with $9.9 million. Another animated film, "The Wild" debuted in the fourth spot with $9.7 million. Antonio Banderas' latest film, "Take the Lead," danced its way to number five with $6.8 million. "Inside Man" was next, landing at number six. "Lucky Number Slevin" was number seven this week, followed by "Thank You for Smoking" at eight. "Failure to Launch" and "V for Vendetta" rounded out the Easter weekend top ten.
