Baby Cruise is Born!
The day has finally arrived. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed a baby girl into their family today. According to Cruise's publicist, Paul Bloch, 27-year-old Holmes and her 7 pounds, 7 ounces baby girl are both doing well. The couple named the baby Suri, which in Hebrew means "princess" and in Persian means "red rose."
This is Holmes' first child and Cruise's first biological child. Cruise has two adopted children, 13-year-old Isabella and 11-year-old Connor, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
Holmes and Cruise began dating last April. The 43-year-old "Mission Impossible" actor proposed to her in June at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The couple plans on marrying in late summer/early fall.
No word on how quiet the delivery was or whether or not Tom ate the placenta...
