Rush Limbaugh is BACK...on Drugs
Conservative radio pundit Rush Limbaugh may soon be striking a lucrative deal with the state of Florida: Pony up some cash and avoid jail time. The state's charges relate to alleged records that Limbaugh had been cheating his earlier rehab deals by purchasing more than $2000 of medication illegally. Specifically, state authorities claim that Limbaugh managed to engage in "doctor shopping" or seeing several doctors who each would write a separate prescription for the same drugs.
The practice is illegal, but while Limbaugh and his lawyer's have technically pled 'not guilty' to the charges, they are holding off on a court-date until a deal can be worked out with prosecutors. The deal will likely involve Limbaugh spend more time with a specific court-appointed doctor, that he be verified as clean in regards to drugs, and that he pay at least $30,000 to cover the costs of the investigation.
Reading to children on the weekend is not likely to be a part of the package, but if it was he'd at least have something more to rant about on his show.
