Teri’s “Toast“ Hits Bookstores
3-May-2006
Written by: Ellen Wernecke
The Desperate Housewife tells of lessons learned during single motherhood in her first book.
Her perfectionist character Susan on "Desperate Housewives" might never serve a breakfast that wasn't absolutely perfect.
But Teri Hatcher called her first memoir "Burnt Toast" in honor of her own self-sacrificing mom, who would always take the worst piece of toast for herself.
Hatcher, a single mom on TV and in real life with one daughter, had her first signing (and, natch, after-party) for the book Tuesday in Hollywood, California.
Hatcher told "E.T." she hopes her book will show "you can be a good woman and still take your goodies for yourself."
A Desperate Mom, she's not!
