Stars Run With The Fillies at the Kentucky Derby
9-May-2006
Written by: Ellen Wernecke

Out and about in “Lou’vul“ this weekend.

Things you might have seen at the Kentucky Derby: Mint juleps; crazy hats; celebrities?

That's right, some stars decided to rock it old-school at parties in Louisville, Kentucky this past weekend, where the Kentucky Derby is held every year, and the New York Daily News' Rush & Molloy were there to see them all.

Horse Barbaro might have taken home the big prize, but Olympic skiier Bode Miller was aiming to find himself a trophy girlfriend at the Crown Royal Playboy Club. Didn't you know horses don't get gold medals?

Another non-medaler? Nick Lachey, who was urged to take the mike by producer Jermaine Dupri and, according to witnesses, couldn't even cope with singing 30 seconds of his new single "What's Left of Me." Nick, Nick, no one can feel sorry for you if you're out partying. Go hide in a spa and take some time off!

Meanwhile, Usher got punked by Dave Chappelle when the comedian slipped him the wrong room number at the hotel where he was staying. The R&B crooner donned horn-rimmed glasses to pretend to be a pizza delivery boy at 3:30 AM -- only to find that Chappelle was a few rooms down the hall, laughing it up. Whoops!

But it's okay, Usher, you're not the biggest buffoon of the weekend. That honor goes to "Dancing With the Stars"' Stacy Keibler, who apparently decided at the Jack Daniel's and "Stuff" magazine gala that what she really needed was a statue of Jack himself. Surprise, surprise, she and her boyfriend were "dissuaded" from stealing Mr. Daniel by security guards at the event. It beats dancing off to jail!
