Robert Blake Appealing, And A Really Likable Guy Too
10-May-2006
Written by: Alexander Rogers
Blake refuses to say “Die“ in court, though he had much less of a problem saying it to his wife! Joking, joking...
Robert Blake, who apparently starred in something called "Baretta," (sounds violent to me) is going back to the court of appeals in an attempt to overturn a wrongful death verdict of $30 million against him. The wrongful death case, brought by the family of his slain wife, Bonny Bakley, in the wake of his acquittal of the murder charges against him for her death had already survived one appeal. However, never one to let anything that stands in his way survive, Blake has hired the same attorney that oversaw his criminal case, Gerald Schwartzbach, to make the second appeal.
I hope he wins, because eventually Blake's going to need that $30 million to pay his attorneys' fees. However, even if Blake again manages to dodge a legal bullet he may still have to deal with the ramifications of the public's own verdict: Still less interesting than the O.J. Simpson trial.
