The Amazing Race Recap 5/17
Entering the final legs of The Amazing Race, the Hippies zipped into first place via last episode's Fast Forward.
Then it's on to Japan, where the teams drive to Shibuya Square and scan billboards for their next clue. The Frats are the first to find the clue which directs them to a dog statue. There, the teams receive a Detour task of either carrying a maiden with a pole structure or assembling a bike and delivering two packages. The Frats choose the Maiden task and are the first to finish. The Hippies complete their messenger task and arrive next, with Ray/Yolanda coming in last.
The next day, the teams drive to a local amusement park and receive their Roadblock task which involves one player from each team riding three park rides in order to spot a clue on the ground. The clue directs them to the next Pit Stop, a boat in a local lake where the Frat boys edge out the Hippies and Ray/Yolanda. But all three teams end up on the same flight to their next destination: Alaska.
In Alaska, the Frats and the Hippies pull ahead of Ray/Yolanda. The two teams arrive at the Detour task and all teams choose to construct an ice fishing structure. The Frats finish ahead of the Hippies, with Ray / Yolanda finishing last yet again.
Next the teams fly to Denver, Colorado on the same flight. There the teams find a clue that sends them back to the Red Rocks Amphitheater where the race began. The Frats are in first followed by the Hippies with Ray/Yolanda coming in a distant third.
The final Roadblock involves one player from each team finding the correct flag for each country they visited and lining them up in order of the Race. The Frats take an early lead, but the Hippies catch-up. The Hippies get the correct sequence after an initial error winning this season of The Amazing Race and the million dollar prize.
