The "Devil" Attended, Wore Prada

The Devil Wears Prada mocks big-time magazine editors. What happened when one showed up to the premiere?

When someone compares you to Satan, usually it's best just to stay away from them.

But "Vogue" editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wasn't about to stay away from a new movie based on one of her former personal assistants' accounts of the job.

"The Devil Wears Prada" stars Meryl Streep as a domineering, aggravating magazine editor who runs her poor assistant (Anne Hathaway of "The Princess Diaries") ragged. The book, written by former "Vogue" assistant Lauren Weisberger, pictured a near-exact copy of Wintour in the editing chair.

But Streep plays the editor a little looser to include caricatures of other famous editors. Is that why Wintour felt good about showing up?

She still didn't shake author Weisberger's hand on the way out, though!

A spokesperson for Wintour said she enjoyed the film and found it a "satire."
