Beyonce Seeking Girl Band
Beyonce Knowles is hosting her own mini-American Idol in a quest for an all-female band. The former ringleader of Destiny's Child is searching for musicians to play on her upcoming tour for her sophomore solo album, "B'Day."
Knowles is searching for guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, percussionists, and horn players. First-round auditions are to be held Monday in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Burbank, and Weehawken, and finalists will travel to New York to audition for Knowles herself that same week. Musicians must be able to begin work on the road by June 20, according to her label, Columbia Records.
Auditioners must be 18 or older and must perform Knowles' "Work It Out" as played on the DVD of "Beyonce: Live at Wembley."
Ah, how I long for 1997, when a million Hanson jokes could have been funny here.
