Charlie Rose's heart surgery comeback

Rose returns to his talk show after undergoing a risky heart valve operation.

Journalist and PBS talk show host Charlie Rose will be back on the air Monday night, fully recovered from the dangerous heart surgery he underwent in March.

The 64-year-old host was making his way to Syria where he was to interview the president. His trip was cut short when he began experiencing shortness of breath in Paris, ultimately spending a month in the hospital to replace a mitral valve with a pig-heart valve. It is his second pig-heart valve replacement.

"There was some real question as to whether I would survive," Rose said. "He (the surgeon) said to me it was very close...I never thought at any point, myself, that I was going to die."

Even in his absence, Rose kept the show running with guest hosts, including Barbara Walters and Brian Williams.

Rose will spend the first half of Monday's show discussing the experiences of his surgery.
