Watch out, Jay: here come Coulter and Carlin
13-Jun-2006
Written by: J. Rachel Anderson
The two will both be guests on Jay Leno, and everyone’s dreading (and secretly hoping for) the sparks that are sure to fly.
It may in fact be the apocalypse: George Carlin and Ann Coulter are both guests on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Carlin, the pro-free-speech antiestablishment comedian is there to promote “Cars,” and Coulter, the smack-talking conservative commentator is promoting her new book, “Godless: The Church of Liberalism.”
Politics are rare fodder for “Tonight,” but Jay better watch out. Coulter is already under fire for her comments about a group of 9/11 widows. In her book, she says the women who pushed for the independent commission to investigate the attacks “[revel] in their status as celebrities and [are] stalked by grief-arazzis.”
I’m sure Leno’s audience will tune in. I, for one, will be hiding under the blankets doing what I usually do: ignoring everything that comes out of Coulter’s mouth.
