Parlae was present in a studio with 11 pounds of weed, but had nothing to do with it, says his publicist.
Maurice "Parlae" Gleaton, a member of Atlanta rap group Dem Franchize Boyz, was arrested Tuesday evening in a drug raid.
He was charged with trafficking marijuana, when Atlanta police raided a recording studio, arresting eight people and seizing 11 pounds of marijuana, two handguns, and more than $160,000 in cash.
Dem Franchize Boyz' single, "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" has topped the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart, and their album has sold more than half a million copies.
The group's publicist, Melissa Victor, stated that "Parlae will be exonerated of any charges in this matter." They are claiming that Gleaton was present, but did not commit any crime.Good luck with that defense.
