Village People Cop changes his life
He's no Macho Man when it comes to receiving love from fans, either.
The Village People's original cop is behind bars, though he's working on fixing his life.
Victor Willis released a statement Monday saying that he is trying to get his life back on track while he serves a sentence for cocaine possession. Willis was arrested in San Francisco while on the run because he had skipped a hearing on drugs and weapons charges.
He was then charged with two more crimes, drug possession and giving a false name to a police officer. The charges were consolidated, and now Willis faces up to four years and four months in jail.
However, the former disco star is putting the time to good use. He is in a recovery program and says that the "nightmare of drug abuse is being lifted from my life."
