Rock Star reality show to premiere tonight

Apparently when you're a famous musician and in need of an addition to your band, all you need to do is start a reality show and let the talent come to you.

It worked for INXS. Tonight, we're going to find out how effective it will be for Supernova, the combination of Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, Metallica's Jason Newsted and Guns N' Roses' Gilby Clarke, as their reality show Rock Star: Supernova (CBS) begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The objective of the show is to reveal the new "rockstar" - one that can complete the supergroup.

"We're basically going to get together and clash and what comes out of it will be Supernova," Lee said. "Supernova - the clash of stars."

The 90-minute premiere will also be available online.

"Whoever wins will be thrust completely in the fast lane - boom!" Lee said. "Hang on baby, hope you brought your helmet!"
