Marriage No. 5 for Brigitte Nielsen
After an engagement ceremony last year, the actress weds her fifth husband.
Danish actress Brigitte Nielsen and former Italian model Mattia Dessi were officially married at the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa in Malta on Saturday, People magazine reports.
Although the couple held a wedding ceremony in February 2005, the marriage was not legal because Nielsen was still in the middle of a divorce from former husband Raoul Meyer.
Nielsen's manager Luigi Balduini says last year's ceremony "was more like an official engagement. They put it on the news that it was a marriage, but it was an engagement, because she was still legally married."
But Balduini says Saturday's ceremony made her marriage official.
"She is like a little child. She is pretty happy," Balduini says.
Nielsen was previously married to actor Sylvester Stallone and has a son with NFL player Mark Gastineau, along with three sons from her other ex-husbands.
