Hell's Kitchen, Season 2 Episode 5, Recap 7/10

The Red Team wins a taste test challenge and is rewarded with a photo shoot for TV Guide, while the Blue Team is left cleaning the kitchen. At the dinner service, the Blue Team finally completes all their orders while Rachel's many mistakes costs her team the win.

Following elimination, Virginia is still upset over Sara's betrayal at the last dinner service, saying that it's now strictly business between them

The next day, the chefs meet with Chef Ramsey standing in front of a table filled with appetizers. What the chefs don't realize however is that each dish is a fake. The chefs dig in and Ramsey asks for their impressions. He then drops the bomb that none of these delicacies are real.

To further try their tasting skills Chef Ramsey sets up a blind taste test. Each team member, while blindfolded, will have to identify different items and the team with the most accurate palette wins. The Red Team wins when Garrett mistakes the short rib for turkey. For losing the challenge the Blue Team is charged with cleaning HELL'S KITCHEN, while the Red Team gets to be featured in a TV Guide photo shoot.

The chefs arrive for the dinner service and Chef Ramsey is hell-bent on filling every order. HELL'S KITCHEN opens, and Rachel burns the first prepared duck. Ramsey asks if this is a sign of things to come. Problems continue for the Red Team, as a customer returns a dish complaining about a long, black hair sticking out of the food, which everyone believes is Maribel's. Rachel then presents a second burnt dish and Ramsey takes her into the back, asking if she wants to quit.

Despite a wobbly finish the Blue Team serves all their entrees and completes the service. Things aren't going as well for the Red Team. Rachel overcooks the wellingtons. Chef Ramsey catches this immediately and tells the Red Team to shut down the kitchen.

Ramsey declares the Blue Team the winners and instructs Virginia to nominate two of her teammates for elimination. The chefs gather for elimination and Virginia, to no one's surprise, nominates Rachel and Maribel. Ramsey asks why and Virginia begins to explain how a hair in the food is unacceptable. Ramsey then eliminates Rachel, saying her mistakes tonight were inexcusable.
