Simpson celebrates with intimate birthday bash

Ten days after her divorce with Nick Lachey was finalized, Jessica Simpson celebrated her 26th birthday with family and friends in Mexico.
She’s been officially divorced for 10 days, so when it came time for singer Jessica Simpson to celebrate her 26th birthday Monday, she did so with her parents and close family friends, but not Lachey.
Hanging out it Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a source told “People” magazine Simpson and company would be doing, “Everything you do at the beach. They drank margaritas. They laid out in the sun."
Monday night, over sangria and Mexican food, the party danced and told stories. The source said Jessica was the happiest she’d ever been.
Last year’s birthday celebration for the singer was a lot less private – with 150 of Simpson’s friends in tow.
Simpson’s latest music video “A Public Affair” debuted Wednesday, and her upcoming film, “Employee of the Month,” will open Sept. 15.
