19-Jul-2006
Written by: Doan Phuong Nguyen

‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ author gives birth to second child with longtime partner.

PEOPLE magazine has reported author Helen Fielding gave birth to a healthy baby girl Sunday. This is the second child for the British writer and her partner Kevin Curran.

"She's gorgeous but yet-to-be-named," the author’s publicist, Catherine Olim, said in a statement. "Mother and daughter are both doing fine and everyone is delighted."

Fielding is most famous for the ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ novels, both of which have been made into successful movies starring Renee Zellweger. Recently, the author published ‘Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination,” published in 2004.

Fielding’s longtime partner, Kevin Curran, is an Emmy-winning writer who has worked on numerous TV shows including “The Simpsons,” “Married with Children” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

The two writers also have a two-year old son, Dashiell.
