Village People cop finds himself on the wrong side of the law
Singing as the "cop" in The Village People did not help Victor Edward Willis, as he appealed no contest to charges of drug abuse. According to AP, Willis claimed the plea so he would serve one of two sentence options if he goes to a drug rehab center with six months of jail.
After Superior Court Judge Mark Forcum evaluates Willis' probation report, he will decide in September on his sentence. Along with a passenger, Willis had cocaine and other drugs in his car when stopped for a routine traffic stop in San Francisco.
Willis was arrested last year as well, but disappeared when it came time for him to appear in court. He had not been found until he was arrested earlier this year and has been in a drug rehab provided by the county ever since. Willis will be in jail without bail until his hearing in September.
