Television Critics Association Awards has the right formula

The Television Critics Association held its 22nd annual TCA Awards on Sunday.

The TCA obviously remembered devout critics and fans can't be wrong when it comes to choosing its winners. Outstanding Achievement in Drama "Lost" of ABC and Outstanding New Program "My Name is Earl" of NBC, took prizes despite their earlier snubs from the Emmy nominations, due to Emmy's highly scorned new formula of choosing nominees. ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," also an Emmy nominee, took home the top honor of Program of the Year.

The TCA also took time to honor television legend Carol Burnett with their Career Achievement award. Burnett received a long, standing ovation and used her acceptance speech to offer an appearance on NBC's "The Office," winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy award. "The Office" star, Steve Carell also delivered a fun speech for Individual Achievement in Comedy, during which he made the audience laugh and included a heart warming moment while discussing his appreciation of recognition since the failure of his ABC Series "Over the Top" in 1997.
