Fox hopes signing celebrities works
25-Jul-2006

“Celebrity Duets“ to hold down FOX Thursday until “The O.C.“ returns

With ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” moving to Thursday nights and CBS powerhouse “CSI” on at the same time, Fox is taking a little different approach; it will have a new celebrity themed show.

“Celebrity Duets” a show that will pair amateur, singing celebrities with chart-topping musicians will take over the Fox Thursday night time slot until “The O.C.” returns in November.

"There's no doubt about it -- it is going to be one monster competitive night on television," Fox Entertainment president Peter Liguori said Monday during Fox's portion of the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour and reported by Reuters.

No word on who the amateur celebrities are, but the chart topping celebrities to appear on the show include: Michael Bolton, Macy Gray, Smokey Robinson and Brian McKnight.
