Eva Longoria goes from Desperate Housewife to Dead Fiancee.

Eva Longoria has a new movie role.

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is joining the workforce this summer in a new comedy called "How I Met My Boyfriend's Dead Fiancee."

"Clueless" star Paul Rudd along with "Miss Match" regular Lake Bell co-star in the film about a psychic (Bell) who falls in love with a skeptic (Rudd) and finds herself being haunted and thwarted by his dead fiancee.

Shooting begins August 24 and will coincide with the taping of the new season of "Desperate Housewives." Longoria will spend her weekdays with the housewives and her weekends as the ghost.

The film also marks the directorial debut of its screenwriter Jeff Lowell, who also wrote this summer's heavily advertised, "John Tucker Must Die," starring ex-castmate Jesse Metcalfe.
