Actress Gillian Anderson pregnant
A spokeswoman for Gillian Anderson announced Wednesday the actress is expecting her second child with businessman Mark Griffiths. She has an 11-year-old daughter, Piper, from her first marriage to documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne.
Americans best know Anderson for her FBI agent character Dana Scully on “The X-Files.” Gillian played the character from 1993-2003.
In 2005, she appeared in a British Broadcasting Company (BBC) television movie of Charles Dickens’ novel the “Bleak House” as Lady Deadlock. Earlier this year, she was nominated for the prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Award (BAFTA) for best actress.
She didn’t grab the award; her co-star in “Bleak House” Anna Martin Maxwell walked away with the BAFTA award, but Anderson wasn’t empty-handed. She won the Broadcasting Press Guild Television and Radio Award for best actress for her role in “Bleak House.”
Corrine Freiburg, Gillian’s spokeswoman, has said the baby will be born at the end of the year.
