Mel Gibson battles himself along with Hollywood

The road to recovery for Gibson

Mel Gibson has hurt any connections he may have had left with Jewish leaders, according to AP. They are not taking his anti-Semitic rage lightly with just an apology. His outburst happened during an arrest for drunken driving and speeding near his home in Malibu, Calif.

Gibson may also have harmed his career. Disney is contemplating the removal of "Apocalypto," a movie about the Maya kingdom that Gibson co-wrote and directed. ABC is deliberating their deal with Gibson as well with their development about the Holocaust.

TMZ.com claims his rage against the Jews may have been swept under the rug if it were not for their report from the arresting officer. A different report stating nothing about the issue was reported to the L.A. County Sheriff's office. The LAPD is currently reviewing the arrest to discover whether or not there was a disguise of what Gibson said.

According to his rep, Alan Nierob, Gibson has already put himself in rehab since this incident Friday. Gibson's apology statement read, "I have battled the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse."
