Big Brother All-Stars Season Episode 11

The Power of Veto Episode

Janelle reveals her big plan is to have Chill Town win the veto so she can then nominate another floater.

The veto competition players are decided at bedtime. HOH Janelle, nominees Boogie and Erika, along with Howie and Diane will take part in the morning's competition. Tonight, we finally get the results of the America's Choice wake-up call votes. The houseguests are informed the fans have created wake-up calls and voted on the time intervals in which the guests will receive them. It can be anywhere from every 15 minutes to every three hours. Janelle pulls Howie aside, while everyone is going to bed, and tells him to make sure Erika and Diane don't win the veto. Howie tries to articulate a request for more information but Janelle quickly waves him off and tells him to just do it. Shortly after midnight, the hamsters realize the loud and ridiculous wake-up calls will be coming in every 15 minutes. This is especially great for Erika who desperately wants to get rest before the morning veto competition.

The veto competition wake-up call comes at 5 a.m. and the sleep deprived hamsters rush to the backyard to find what looks like electric chairs awaiting them. "The Torture Test" involves the competitors seated in the chairs watching a plasma screen displaying commonly used big brother words that are being spelled out backward. A competitor must buzz in correctly on three words to win the contest. A wrong answer equals elimination. A correct answer involves choosing to place one of the hindrances on a competitor. The hindrances include goggles and buckets of worms. Howie uses his correct word to place Diane's feet in the worms. Janelle uses her correct word to place goggles over Diane's eyes. At this point, Diane innocently questions why she is being so heavily targeted. Good question. Boogie gets three answers correctly and wins the Power of Veto.

While the sixers convene, James asks Janelle why she went after Diane instead of Chill Town during the competition. Janelle warbles some pathetic excuse. Howie wises up and, using words this time, asks Janelle why she asked him to target Erika and Diane. Yes, this is why I watch this show. People behave shady and then get called on it. Janelle warbles some more and James just dismisses the entire conversation. His confessional reveals he knows what Janelle is up to and now we know things are about to get ugly.

Will speaks to Janelle about who shall replace Boogie on the chopping block. Janelle is nervous because her alliance really wants Chill Town out over the floaters. Will points out she is the main target of the floaters, not her alliance members, and that is why they don't wish to target floaters. This is true, but I still wouldn't trust Will. He has that creepy, mellow tone of manipulative speech that is always used by the pedophiles portrayed on Lifetime movies. I know that is a vile comparison, but that dude's game is really creepy.

For the first time this season, the hamsters are treated to a Luxury Competition. They will be broken up into two teams and the winning team will get an advanced screening of Will Ferrell's "Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby." All of the members of the winning team will also be allowed to enjoy refreshments during the movie, even those on food restrictions. This is poor Georgie's chance to eat something other than slop. The teams take turns getting into a NASCAR car that will spin on an axis until the team is sufficiently dizzy. The team then gets out and performs the pit crew duties of changing a tire, cleaning the windshield, applying stickers and filling the gas tank. The quickest time wins. The blue team of Janelle, Will, Mike Boogie, James and Diane wins. George's red team loses, and now I'm depressed.

After the movie, Janelle tells the sixers she is replacing Boogie with Diane. James pressures her for reasons and Janelle finally admits the nomination will be what is best for her interests. James looses his cool as he points out he didn't want to nominate Jase last week, but did so because it was best for the alliance. Losing Jase was a huge loss for James but he still stuck by his alliance and now Janelle is spitting on his commitment. All true. In the middle of the night, James wakes Danielle for a meeting. He tells her everything and declares it is time for a "revolution," and he is now gunning for Janelle. That's what I'm talking about!

The Power of Veto ceremony finally begins. Mike Boogie vetoes himself and Janelle replaces him with Diane. It is on!
