Madonna feels like “honorary Brit“ at ceremony
2-Aug-2006

The Material Girl is the first to have her handprints at Square of Fame at Wembley.
Looks like Madonna has earned the right to sport that British accent.
The uber-successful pop singer had the distinct honor of being the first celebrity to have her hands cast at Wembley Arena’s Square of Fame venue in London.
Madonna, currently hopping all over the world with her Confessions tour, had the imprints of her hands cast in New York during the first half of the tour. The venue owners, Quintan Estates, said in a statement: “Madonna is officially the greatest female star in the world and we are delighted that she is the first of what will only be a few major names to be celebrated in the Square of Fame.”
The venue is also seeking the famous handprints of pop singer Kylie Minogue and George Michael to name a few.
The Material Girl said the honor made her feel like an honorary Brit and looked forward to seeing other stars handprints alongside hers. After the ceremony, Madonna returned to rehearsals for the first London show of the Confessions tour.
She will perform for the first time in Russia at Moscow University in September.
