Summer ratings continue to melt
ABC hit the jackpot last summer with "Dancing with the Stars." The show was such a hit it earned a spot on the regular season schedule. But, ABC's luck has run out with the cancellation of "The One" in only its second week after being the lowest rated show in modern television history. ABC's other reality show, "One Ocean View" is set for a similar destiny after sputtering out the second- lowest rated debut for a reality show on one of the major networks.
While CBS continues to do well with re-runs of "CSI," new episodes of the reality shows "Big Brother" and "Rock Star: Supernova" are less than out of this world.
The common word used to describe the success of this summer's reality shows is "decent." There isn't a strong success compared to last year, but besides ABC's failures, the networks are doing, well, fine. Fox and NBC have 3.0 ratings for their shows, "So You Think You can Dance?" and "America's Got Talent," respectively.
