The coffee chain will begin its literary campaigns with a new book by Mitch Albom.
Starbucks customers will soon be able to buy the latest novels with their lattes, with the coffee chain kicking off its new book sales with author Mitch Albom, it was announced Monday.
The store will launch its first in-store book campaign Oct. 3 with Albom's "For One More Day." The promotion includes in-store signings by the author in select cities and video conversations with Albom to be aired online and in stores. A Starbucks Book Break will also be held in 25 stores Oct. 26, for "encouraging meaningful conversations about this literary work."
"Today's announcement reflects our new and ongoing commitment to offering our customers the unique opportunity to discover books as part of their daily coffee routines," said Starbucks Entertainment President Ken Lombard.
Starbucks will donate $1 from every Albom book sold to Jumpstart, a nonprofit organization emphasizing reading for preschoolers.
Albom is the author of the best-selling "Tuesdays With Morrie," which has sold over 11 million copies.
