Rock Star: Supernova Recap

We're down to the top 10 and it was the best overall night of performances, yet!

Dilana: "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The WhoThis week, this is the song Gilby was going to perform on. He sang parts with Dilana, and I have to be honest, their voices did not mesh well at all. She didn't do a horrible job, but it was not my favorite performance of hers. After the performance Gilby said, "I have no doubt that a woman can front our band." Dave is upset nobody fought to get that song since Gilby would be performing on it. Because of that, he said if it were up to him he'd pick Dilana right now. And so the Dilana slurping continues.

Jill: "Mother Mother" by Tracy BonhamFor someone who's not going to make it much further, if anymore at all, it sucks she had to go after a band favorite. Jill ended up doing some weird dance moves during the song that were very distracting. She looked like a little kid up there, but her voice was all right. Tommy says it was her best performance yet.

Ryan: "Painted Black" by The Rolling StonesRyan comes out dressed in all black with a black wig hoodie and black makeup all around his eyes. It's very silly and takes away from his vocal performance. Gilby says his vocals have been killer as of late and Tommy says it's because he got laid after his last performance.

Storm: "We Are the Champions" by QueenShe gets props for even attempting to sing this song. Jordis and JD tried it last year and Storm proved the best of the three. She points to the rest of the group at the end of the song and Dilana bows down to her. Jason tells her that Queen would've stamped their approval and Tommy hopes she brings back the rock next week.

Zayra: "All the Young Dudes" by David BowieBrooke tells us each day everyone awakes with two questions: what is the weather going to be like and what will Zayra be wearing? This week, it's a gold shimmery spandex thing with a black top hat; she kind of looks like an Oscar statuette. She is accompanied by Magni and his guitar onstage. She doesn't sound terrible this week, but she doesn't sound good either. Gilby says he's digging her showmanship.

Josh: "Interstate Love Song" by The Stone Temple PilotsTommy surprises Josh by performing on the drums with him...as if it's a BIG surprise, please. We all know they had to practice this. Normally I like Josh's voice, but I thought he sounded terrible on this song. The band disagrees and says he did a great job.

Magni: "The Dolphins Cry" by LiveMagni does the acoustic thing; it's just him and his guitar onstage and he sounds awesome. On a side note, his kid is adorable. The band loves his performance and says he did an excellent job.

Patrice: "Instant Karma" by John LennonThe thing about Patrice is, she's forgettable and this week was no different. By the time the show was over, I had no idea what song she had performed. She has a decent enough voice, but is boring to watch. The band likes it and says she did a good job, well done.

Lukas: "Creep" by RadioheadNot a Radiohead fan favorite, but certainly their most radio friendly song. Lukas finally opens his mouth to sing, which Jason loves and tells him to keep singing like that. Here's a little backstory. On the Internet episode, Dilana had encouraged Lukas to pick this song. She then said to the camera that if he doesn't do well on this song that he shouldn't be here. Clearly Dilana sees Lukas as her competition, because after the band gives him nothing but praise the camera pans over to her and she looks completely pissed.

Toby: "Burning Down the House" by Talking HeadsHis voice sounds really good during this song, but then he goes and ruins the performance by bringing out a megaphone and singing into it. Did he not watch JD Fortune do the same thing last year? Been there, done that. Dave agrees with me. Jason didn't mind it and says he did a great job.

Predictions:Bottom three- Zayra, Jill and PatriceLeaving the show- Zayra AND Jill. There, I said it.Encore- Lukas or Magni
