Another celeb helps world

Jay-Z hopes his water plan will work

With many celebrities lending a hand to world causes, Jay-Z has become the latest to realize world issues that can be changed. He has set out to show the world about the clean drinking water many people, 1.1 billion, live without.

Jay-Z has teamed up with MTV and the United Nations to tour around the world and film his findings into a documentary. According to AP, over 150 MTV stations and 50 local channels in 179 countries will air, "The Diary of Jay-Z: Water for Life" on Nov. 24. He will begin his journey in Poland on Sept. 9 and shooting will start in Turkey soon after.

"As I started looking around and looking at ways that I could become helpful, it started at the first thing...water, something as simple as water," Jay-Z stated.

With his crew, Jay-Z hopes to make 1,000 "play pumps" available in Africa. These pumps will extract water from a well that will lead to a storage tank as they turn like tornados. He also hopes enough people, especially children will watch this informational broadcast. He hopes the children will speak to their parents who might be able to help with his dedicated cause.

Well-known for his 10 years in the rap business, it would be understandable if the children in the cities would like him to sing for them. However, it has to also be understood this is not about his rapping. "Well, I'm not just going to go there and, you know, rap to them. I want to touch and help and maybe see what I can do in these areas," Jay-Z added.
