Christina Ricci doesn't see huge stardom in her forecast

Christina Ricci sees no commercial stardom for herself.

Actress Christina Ricci has been a costar in movies with Charlize Theron ("Monster) and Johnny Depp ("Sleepy Hollow)", and according to the Associated Press Ricci stated she still has to audition for movies.

"I have to say that I still audition for movies," she says. "I don't really have as much control over my career as others would like to pretend that I do."

In her newest role Ricci, 26, had to fight very hard for this part. She plays anxiety-ridden Rae; a victim of childhood sexual abuse in "Black Snake Moan". The movie is written and directed by Craig Brewer who also wrote and directed "Hustle & Flow." Samuel L. Jackson costars as a farmer and blues musician named Lazarus who tries to help Rae. The movie will be released in February, and you can see Ricci chained half naked to a radio through most of the film.

"... My agent started inundating Craig Brewer with photo shoots I had done that are pure sex shots," Ricci says with a laugh in an interview in the September issue of Premiere magazine.

Ricci feels huge commercial stardom will never happen for her. She tells the magazine: "My agent will pull up a picture of me blonde, fat, thin, whatever. I know that had I been thinner at the time when my indie movies were hitting, I could've been in a much better position in my career, but I kind of like where I am."

"Home of the Brave," a war drama and the fairy tale "Penelope," which is about a girl cursed with a pig nose that has to learn to lover herself in order to lift the curse are Ricci's upcoming films.
