Cruise falsely wins Australian award

According to "People" magazine, Tom Cruise was named the winner of Australia's "Celebrity Ernie Award" last week. The award is given out to the "worst derogatory public statement." The only problem is that the winning sexist statement that was attributed to Cruise was never uttered by him. The 400 most powerful women in Australia voted for Cruise's supposed sexist comment which was said to be, "I've got Katie tucked away so no one will get to us until my child is born." The comment was supposedly uttered while his fiancee Katie Holmes was pregnant.

There is no proof Cruise ever said the statement. His representative, Arnold Robinson, told "People," "Tom's comments that they have attributed to him are completely fabricated. Anyone who knows him knows that he is a complete gentleman and would never ever say such a thing. ... He has the utmost respect for women."
