Superman father dies

Actor Glenn Ford, who played Superman's father Jonathon Kent in "Superman," passed away Wednesday at the age of 90 at his home in Beverly Hills.

Glenn starred in many classic films including "Gilda," "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse," "Pocketful of Miracles," "Teahouse of the August Moon," "Midway," "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" and "Blackboard Jungle."

Ford retired in the early '90s because of problems with his health. Stars like Debbie Reynolds and Martin Landau were on hand last May when the American Cinematheque at Hollywood's Egyptian Theater honored Ford, but unfortunately Ford couldn't make it to accept the honor because of health concerns.
