Jerry Lewis’s telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ended Monday with $61,013,855, the highest it has even been. The telethon is to service voluntary health organization programs of research and services to benefit people with neuromuscular diseases.

Lewis, 80 has never missed a telethon. Even after his heart attack in June, he still made it to this year’s show. Ed McMahon also made an appearance as Lewis’s old sidekick.

This year’s telethon was dedicated to the president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, who died recently in June, Robert Ross.
