DVD Dribble
Now you can listen and watch your favorite music on DVD. This edition of the DVD Dribble covers music related DVDs.
Hootie and the Blowfish, a huge band in the '90s, has now put their 2005 Charleston, S.C., concert on DVD. "Hootie and the Blowfish- Live from Charleston" is the first live concert DVD for the "Only Want to Be with You" singers. The DVD features all of the band's hit songs including "I Go Blind," "Hold My Hand" and "Let Her Cry." The DVD contains the band's hometown concert footage and no other special features. A CD of the same concert is also available for purchase.
No Doubt fans will want to grab a hold of "Live in the Tragic Kingdom." It contains footage of Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont in the band's early years. The box set includes the 1997 "Live in the Tragic Kingdom" concert video, "The Beacon Street Collection" reissued CD and a full color poster and sticker. Fans of No Doubt can purchase the box set and hope the band gets back together.
Now we're stepping away from '90s bands' concert footage and into a documentary. "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" is a black and white biography of singer, songwriter and artist Daniel Johnston. The DVD includes deleted scenes, "Sundance World Premiere" featurette, "Laurie and Daniel Reunion" featurette, Daniel's reunion with Laurie, "WFMU Broadcast" featurette, Cinema of Daniel Johnston, his personal movies, audio diaries and recordings and commentary by the director and producer.
Next we travel on tour with blues/rocker J.J. Cale. "To Tulsa and Back: On Tour with J.J. Cale" contains acoustic performances, concert footage, new tracks and a bonus interview. Singer and guitarist Eric Clapton is also featured on the DVD.
The Dribble closes out with a high-definition look at Yanni. "Yanni Live- The Concert Event" is made up of two discs and contains live concert footage, behind the scenes bonus footage and candid interviews.
A variety of musicians made their way to DVD. Most of the DVDs covered in this edition of the DVD Dribble contained live footage from popular musicians.
