Anna Nicole Smith gives birth right before son dies

Daniel Wayne Smith, son of Trimspa success story and reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith, was found dead Sunday morning in the Bahamas, where his mother had just given birth to his sister.

Howard K. Stern, Smith's attorney, issued a statement confirming the 20 year-old's death from an as-yet undetermined cause. Smith's Web site also posted a statement, denying claims that Daniel Smith's death was drug and alcohol related. The statement also asked that no press inquiries be made so Smith may have her time to grieve privately.

Daniel Smith had traveled to the Bahamas where his mother was resting days after giving birth to a healthy baby girl, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces. The name of the child was not disclosed. He appeared in two of his mother's films, "Skyscrapers" and "To the Limit" and could be seen from time to time on his mother's reality series on E!.
