Whitney will not always love Bobby

It's over for Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

Singer Whitney Houston filed for a legal separation from her husband of 14 years, Bobby Brown, Friday. Brown was served with the papers Tuesday. The divorce proceedings will begin in October.

Brown and Houston were married in July 1992 and have a 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Their relationship was tumultuous from the start with battery accusations, drug charges and jail stints. In 2005, the couple's relationship was documented on Brown's Bravo reality television series, "Being Bobby Brown."

This was the first marriage for both Brown and Houston. The 39-year-old "My Prerogative" singer also has three other children with two different women.

Houston has recently been making public appearances and looking happy. The 43-year-old singer is currently working on a comeback album.
