Alec Baldwin continues to fume over ex-wife Kim Basinger

Page Six reveals excerpts of Baldwin's recent interview with "GQ" magazine, in which he bashes his ex-wife and her lawyers.

Alec Baldwin showed "GQ" he is still sore from his 2002 divorce and subsequent custody battle with "L.A. Confidential" star Kim Basinger. Baldwin bashes his former spouse and her legal representation with claims they are liars.

"My ex-wife once said, 'He's Saddam Hussein.' She said that. And I thought, 'Do I hide myself in cramped underground quarters? Do I like to shoot firearms in a celebratory way? Did I execute whole villages of people and bulldoze their bodies into a pit? What are you saying? Explain this to me.' "

Baldwin explains the most devastating character attacks were those on his parenting skills, "it said all of these things, like I wasn't a good father [to 10-year-old daughter Ireland] . . . I remember lying in bed, thinking I wanted to die on the spot . . . I would say, 'Please don't let me wake up. I can't face another day.' "

The "Beetle Juice" star does have some kind words for Tom Cruise in regards to his current tabloid struggles. Baldwin admits he doesn't know much about Scientology, but sees no reason to fear or criticize Cruise's involvement, "let's just leave him alone."
