Oprah says lawyers overreacted

Winfrey said matter could have been handled with phone call.

Oprah Winfrey said her lawyers made a mistake when they went after the man who promoted her for president.

"I feel flattered by it," the 52-year-old talk-show host told The Associated Press on Monday. "My lawyers overreacted, I think, by sending him a cease-and-desist order because it really is a flattering thing."

Patrick Crowe of Kansas City, Mo., Has tried to get Winfrey to run for president for years, even setting up a Web site and campaign-song for the popular talk show host.

Winfrey's lawyers sent Crowe a cease-and-desist order demanding he remove pictures of Winfrey from his Web site. Winfrey told the AP the matter should have been handled with a phone call and she might even call Crowe herself.
