Laguna Beach, Season 3 Episode 8

At the gym, Kyndra vents to Cami about her frustration with Nikki, Tyler's sister. She says Nikki's reports to Tyler about Winter Formal are starting to irritate her. She tells Cami she wishes Nikki would come to her first, then Cami points out that it wouldn't make much sense for Nikki to do that since she would just lie to her anyway. Kyndra seems to forget that Nikki did come to her the night of the dance.

As Cameron and his friend talk about the Valentines Day party that Kyndra and Tyler are throwing, Cameron gets a call from Jessica. Jessica tells Cameron she just had a missed call from Cami and she asks Cameron if he has any idea why Cami would be calling her. Cameron, true to form, plays dumb and acts like he has no idea about the phone call. Once he gets off the phone, he tells his friend the call was probably about the rumors that were spreading.

While Nikki and Cami shop, Nikki tells Cami how hard it is to be in the middle of her brother and her friend. Meanwhile, Kyndra and Tyler go to dinner and Tyler does not try to hide the fact that he is angry with her. Tyler pouts at the table, barely speaking to Kyndra and declining her gift. Kyndra reassures Tyler that she did not hook up with Cameron, but Tyler is not convinced and lets Kyndra know it.

Finally, Valentines night comes and Rocky gets ready for a romantic night with Alex. Tessa is there to support her friend as she gets dressed and Rocky lets Tessa know how much she loves Alex. Alex and Rocky have dinner overlooking the water. The ambiance must have gotten to Rocky because she tells Alex she loves him. There is a long, uncomfortable pause and then Alex responds by saying, "I love you too...I think." Rocky tells Alex he is hard to read and getting emotion out of him is like getting water out of a rock.

The party is going ok until Cameron arrives. Kyndra foolishly invited him to the dinner and it makes things even harder for her and Tyler's already shaky relationship. Cameron and his friend spend the evening childishly whispering and making fun of Tyler. Across the table, the tension between Kyndra and Tyler continue to rise. Once dinner was over, everyone heads downstairs to play pool. Kyndra stays behind and talks to Cameron, who is also unresponsive. Kyndra has enough and heads downstairs to Tyler, who is less than happy to see her coming. He tells her she has been too busy with Cameron to be around him and once again Kyndra makes excuses that Tyler does not believe and seems uninterested in hearing.

The following day, Rocky and Tessa recap their night. Rocky tells Tessa recounts the night like she is telling a fairytale. She tells her how romantic the night was and how much she loves Alex. Alex, on the other hand tells his friend he is definitely not in love. Things between Tyler and Kyndra have not gotten any better. Tyler tells Kyndra he knows she lied and no longer wants to be in a relationship with her. Kynda futilely tries to explain herself to no avail. Kyndra asks Tyler if he wants her to leave and he says, "kind of". He leaves no doubt that Kyndra's scandalous actions at the dance were too much for him.
