Texas Town Remembers Anna Nicole’s Son.

Mexia, Texas holds small memorial service for Daniel Smith.
According to the Associated Press, relatives and friends of Daniel Smith, Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son, gathered in the small town of Mexia, Texas, on Saturday, to say their final goodbyes. Around 50 family members and friends attended the hour-long service at the First Baptist Church of Mexia, including Billy Smith, Anna's first husband and Daniel's father.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reports that relatives remembered Daniel as a happy child who loved to catch frogs, ride horses, and play with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figurines. In fact, in Daniel's honor, life-sized cutouts of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were arranged in the front of the church. A family member opened the service by singing a song she wrote for Daniel while his great-grandfather, Gus Moser, delivered the eulogy.
Daniel died on September 10, 2006, while visiting his former Playboy Playmate mother in the Bahamas after she gave birth to her daughter, Dannielynn Hope. A private autopsy concluded that Daniel died from a lethal combination of methadone and the antidepressants Zoloft and Lexapro.
